As the global economy continues to suffer a crisis of confidence in the wake of the American credit downgrade and the potential collapse of the euro currency, most countries are adjusting their economic forecasts downward. Even high-flying Germany is now threatening to slump back into recession. But not all countries are licking their wounds. Here, TNR presents a list of some of the few countries that have managed to weather the economic storm.

Just because North Korea SAYS they're doing "just fine", doesn't mean they belong on the list. I'm sure there's a bunch of African nation dictators also willing to say they're "just fine" -- why didn't they make the list?

To list a starving, barely surviving dictatorship as "just fine"...
