Christopher DeMuth has performed a similar exercise concerning Thomas Piketty’s new book “On Capital in the 21 st Century”. One of the joys of this argument is that we can watch generally left leaning commentators falling over themselves to note their accord with the central thesis of the book. Even while accepting that tenet means that they should therefore accept a change to Social Security which they’ve just spent the past decade insisting must not be allowed to happen.
