All it took was two weeks in January for everyone to scream that we were about to enter a bear market and recession. We went from investors and traders cheering the long-awaited Fed hike, to complete and utterly insane panic after the worst yearly start to stocks in history. Short-termism and extrapolation has hit an all-time high, as the crowd would rather dramatically fit narrative to price movement rather than actually look at history to fully understand not just randomness, but context and cycles.
