“It was about trade, and it was about borders,” Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Tuesday, explaining his string of primary victories. “China, Japan, Mexico, Vietnam, India — everybody,” he said, adding the now-familiar “they’re killing us.”
Trump’s inclusion of Japan and Mexico in his stump-speech list of bogeymen is offensive to two strong US allies. And it’s based on a dated view, to boot.
