In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, incoming White House senior strategist Steve Bannon referred to Donald Trump’s stunning presidential victory as “obvious,” and 2016’s presidential contest as a “change election.” Bannon and all who saw Trump’s appeal early on have earned the right to gloat. Maybe a lot.
Still, and as is the case with most elections, this one turned on very few votes. Perhaps too easily forgotten is how close we came to Robby Mook being interviewed as the architect of Hillary Clinton’s victory. Figure that Clinton won the popular vote, and her vote lead grows by the day.
