Trump: I Fight Like Hell Not to Pay a Lot of Taxes

Donald Trump appeared on the Today Show this morning after his robust win in the New Hampshire primary last night. Hosts Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie ask The Donald about his tax returns.

MATT LAUER: When are you going to release your tax returns?

DONALD TRUMP: Probably over the next few months. They're being worked on right now.

LAUER: What's the holdup?

TRUMP: They're very, well, they're very big tax returns. The biggest, I guarantee you this, it's the biggest ever in the history of what we're doing. So, it's very complicated stuff. But we'll be releasing them.

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: Will people be surprised at the rate that you pay?

TRUMP: I think they'll be surprised at how little I pay. I fight like hell not to pay a lot of taxes. And, you know what, every politician probably does. I've watched others where they say, "Oh, I wanna pay taxes." I fight like hell not to pay taxes. I hate the way the government spends my money.
